just got back wednesday from family vacation, dove right back into conference circuit on thursday. (now up at foo camp tonight, doing a talk on vertical search; more on that later).
i attended Blog Business Summit yesterday, and had the chance to connect with a bunch of cool folks -- Dave Taylor, Robert Scoble, Steve Gillmor, Chris Pirillo, Eric Rice, Mary Hodder, numerous others. also got the chance to meet some new people, including Matt Mullenweg of WordPress fame. then later in the evening Damon & I took Dave Taylor, Gillmor and a few other folks out to a geek dinner along with Om, Tris Hussey, Sam Perry & Nick Hall.
Overall, the conference was pretty cool and gave people a sense of where corporate blogs are at, where they're headed, and how to use a blog to generate both new customers and revenue. Still, i think the audience target was more about how businesses withOUT blogs could jump in an get started. not quite the usual geeky fare, but pretty good networking nonethess. in fact, as DaveT says: if it were't for the physical conference, i might not have the chance to hookup with all these folks real-time.
and dinner at E&O Trading rocked -- highly recommend the calamari, with some dipping sauce that was out of this world :)
