joined orkut.com and got a little nutso / addicted on the whole social networking thing all over again. brought back memories of spending hours on Ryze, Friendster, etc. i thought i got a little jaded on the whole social networking thing, but of course once Google launched theirs i just got sucked in completely.
they did a pretty good job on the UI, and the speed was amazing... until just a few hours ago. looks like they hit a pretty big spike in the growth curve ;)

Since orkut is in the very early stages of development, it's likely to be up and down quite a bit during the coming months. None of the information you've entered will be deleted, and none of the connections you've made will be lost. And, if all goes well, you should see some significant improvements when we come back online.

ah well, i guess if it's successful it's bound to grow non-linear. hopefully they can just slam some more boxes in there & bring it back up. it does look like a winner...
