Startup Metrics for Pirates (Redux) @ Ignite Seattle

Last night at Ignite Seattle i gave a more compressed version of my Pirate Metrics talk... i just revised my slides a bit, and this version is a little more together:

All wrong... the bucket should have tipped slightly with money pouring out to convey revenue. An arrow saying "revenue" simply doesn't cut it.

The general premise of "AARRR" also works for enterprise SaaS / software-as-a-service solutions.

The first step - acquisition - is the broken step when it comes to enterprise social applications. Each application requires a social rebuild... Visible Path, ConnectBeam, and the rest are nice... but they require significant time investments and active users in order to keep relationships up-to-date... oh, and most don't function as a platform (or "operating system" as Facebook puts it).

Facebook does the platform quite well and is very good at melting social life with work life - a good productivity booster.

Thanks for your comment on my blog. I've posted the link to the long version of the deck more prominently since I really want people to see this. I'm also insisting that my CEO (and office mate) watch it. :-)
