check it out: Larry Lessig talks about the demise of freedom and the expansion of copyright law. really great presentation, and an important subject we've all probably overlooked.
(the talk is from OsCon 2002, but the info & presentation is still very topical)
for more info check out the death of free culture, then go do something about it and contibute to the EFF or support creative commons.
interesting item you probably didn't know: when Walt Disney (the person) was first creating Walt Disney (the company), US copyright law only protected a limited set of publishing technology for a period of 14 years. these days, copyright control has been extended to a period of 70 years or more, and over a variety of everyday-use media that were previously unregulated.

Hi Dave! First time to comment. I watched the presentation video but it was long and the sound was really echo-ie so I didn't finish it. But I really would like to know the point of this presentation!!(or is it just simply said in the title?) Could you kindly give me a summary??
